Clarinet lessons in my home music studio often involve preparation for AMEB and VCE performance exams as well as for upcoming solo recitals or ensemble concerts. Technical work, solo repertoire, sight reading and transposition are covered, as well as a focus on reed preparation and tone development. Duet sight-reading is often a fun feature of my lessons, as is orchestral repertoire, also often in duet form. Aural training with the piano is also covered, especially if appropriate for upcoming exams. Although I enjoy teaching towards performance goals, I do also take on students who are mainly interested in playing in a more leisurely manor.
