Katherine Hopkins (née Brown) has enjoyed an interesting and varied musical career.
Katherine studied her performance degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London before gaining a scholarship to study and complete her degree with renowned American cellist Steven Doane at the Royal College of Music.
Katherine has performed with some of the world’s finest orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, The Queensland Orchestra and Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.
Katherine is an experienced and dedicated teacher who has taught at many prestigious schools in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, as well as running a busy and successful private teaching studio. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities and she has guided numerous students through the AMEB syllabus and beyond.
Katherine teaches from her home studio in Southport and she is a cello specialist at All Saints Anglican School.
