Achieving orchestral musicianship can be the most rewarding experience. Not only do you feel self-confidence musicially, but the side benefits are endless towards an exciting and sociable future. Come along to explore this idea. Minimum requirements are to commit to a ten-lesson term; supply own instrument, and have a genuine interest in exploring music-making.
Theory/musicianship tutoring is included. This requires a willingness to practise the theory of music in the form of homework. This is vital to becoming an independent musician, along with aural development for rhythm, and sightreading. Regular accompaniment enhances enjoyment of learning therefore giving the student an experience of being part of an ensemble.
The tutor hopes to engage many students with the aim of forming ensembles and an adult training orchestra. Participants of all levels will be welcome, and sectional (wind, and strings) rehearsals will also take place to address deeper levels of techniques etc.
