KATHRYN RYAN SINGING TEACHING BIO
In the words of Ella Fitzgerald, “the only thing better than singing is more singing,” and Kathryn enjoys singing, performing and teaching across a variety of musical genres including Classical, Jazz, Music Theatre, Contemporary, Country and A Cappella.
Kathryn has a Masters of Music in Vocal Pedagogy, Performers Certificate in Classical Voice and a BA Dip Ed in primary education. She has also studied voice with Jeanne LoVetri in Somatic Voice Work
Kathryn has many years’ experience teaching voice in both junior and high schools and in her home studio. She has conducted several A Cappella groups and choirs and is an experienced classroom music specialist.
Voice lessons are tailored to suit the individual needs, abilities and interests of students and the Kreative Design studio provides an encouraging and supportive environment for all students from the young to the young at heart.
Lessons can be taken individually or in a small groups
It is never too late to learn to sing and Kathryn has developed a 6 week introductory adult “Ignite your Passion for Singing” class for individuals or up to four adults incorporating good vocal technique and an opportunity to work towards a presentation at the end of the term.
Students can learn for pleasure or work towards performing for examinations, Eisteddfods or casual “Soirees”.
Kathryn is an enthusiastic and motivated educator who actively seeks to extend her own skills as a vocalist. She is soloist with big bands and jazz ensembles, and performs solo or in duets and small ensembles, a cappella groups and choirs, cabaret and musical theatre. She attends professional vocal pedagogical workshops.
