Hi there! I am a Melbourne-based teacher offering in-home lessons in Piano. Lessons are individually tailored to the learner. My main goal is to make the process of learning music fun, and develop the skills you want to learn. Ad-hoc lessons and short-term courses can be arranged, as well as regular lessons. Day time or evening lessons are available.
I am skilled in piano music and am a confident classical musician, teaching beginner solo classical repertoire, as well as a variety of contemporary works dependent on the learner.
Upon request, I can also provide workshops in Ableton, Live-coding with Sonic Pi and hydrophone field recording. I've studied game audio at the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio in 2024 and spatial audio with SIGNAL Arts in 2023. I'm passionate about electronic music workshops that upskill emerging artists on the margins.
I have a Victorian Working With Children Check.
La Fielding is a classical pianist, violinist, published author and composer who spent her formative years on the east coast. At eleven years old, she eagerly picked up the piano, and by eighteen she was teaching other students. La strives to foster a keen love for music in all her pupils, and develops lesson plans catered to each individual, with their particular interests and learning styles in mind. Ad-hoc lessons and short-term courses can be arranged, as well as regular lessons.
La has toured nationally as a classical pianist and violinist, playing concerts at the Victorian College of the Arts, Suite 7a and The Grace Darling. She has also been involved with numerous events with Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, SIGNAL Arts and the Emerging Writer’s Festival, most notably producing a multi-channel public sound artwork that was exhibited along the Birrarung Marr.
