Liam O'Connell

Liam O'Connell grew up in Macgregor and took to music enthusiastically at age 10, learning guitar at primary school from Mr Carter and joining the primary school band on trumpet in year 5.
At Ginninderra High School , the band program was his main interest and a pivotal influence in future activities. In addition, he took up trumpet lessons with Mr Rickets (Weetangera) and piano lessons with Mrs Mills (Melba) which he continued well into his college years.
Liam got his first taste of administration as 'Band Manager (Librarian)' of Wind Ensemble in year 9 and then 'Section leader' of High Brass (trumpets/french horns) in Concert Band, year 10. He doubled as Guitarist in Jazz Genesis and trumpet in Southern Aurora. Liam's first band tour was with the school band to New Zealand in 1995.
