Bmus (Honours), DipEd (Double Music)
I am a passionate and dedicated musician/teacher who enjoys imparting knowledge and engaging students creative side. I aim to tailor lessons to the students interests and understand that each individual learns and responds differently.
I graduated from Monash University in 2014 with an Honours degree in Music Performance (Improvisation) and am currently completing a Diploma of Education at ACU. My primary instruments are the saxophone, clarinet and piano
I enjoy teaching all levels from complete beginner through to advanced and am very familiar with the AMEB syllabus and VCE music performance unit, which I also tutor. Jazz and improvisation are where my expertise lie however in regards to teaching I am comfortable pursuing any interest the student has. I have experience teaching classical repertoire and a variety of styles including, pop, RnB, rock, soul and funk. I have completed AMEB exams including 8th grade on saxophone and 7th grade on clarinet and piano.
I offer lessons focusing on fundamental instrument technique, developing a personal tone/touch on your instrument, selected repertoire, AMEB practical and theory exams, jazz improvisation, aural and theory training, sight-reading and VCE music units 1-4.
I mainly teach from my studio in Alphington but also travel to the surrounding areas indicated.
