Exam preparation offered for:
AMEB Theory of Music Grades 1-6
ABRSM Music Theory Grades 1-8
Trinity College Music Theory Grades 1-8

What you need:
The required workbook and/or reference book(s) for the required grade and examination board (as advised by Mey Studio prior to starting lessons)
Currently enrolled in practical music lessons (any instrument or singing)
Basic music literacy skills
A device with audio and video capabilities (online lessons only)
A stable internet connection (online lessons only)
Access to Google Meet/Zoom (online lessons only)
A printer (online lessons only)
A device that can scan your homework (online lessons only)

Why would you need to write a music theory exam?
As a prerequisite for ABRSM practical examinations Grades 6-8
As a prerequisite for AMEB practical examinations Grades 6-8
To prepare for your university music studies
For fun (if you are a music theory nerd like me!)

Studio prerequisites
The higher grades will require some previous music theory tuition. If you are wanting to do the AMEB Grade 4 or ABRSM Grade 5 examinations (and up), you might need to first complete the courses (not the exams) for previous grades if you haven’t done so yet.

The higher grade courses might require more than a year to complete before being ready to take the exam.
