As a classically-trained jazz violinist with over 30 years experience, my skill-sets are diverse. My recent completion of Masters of Philosophy in jazz violin composition and improvisation using musical software further demonstrates skill-sets that can be used not only to tutor students, but to facilitate students interested in composition.
As the leader of a jazz ensemble for young female and female-identifying musicians, I have collaborated with other professional jazz musicians across Australia to provide targeted support in navigating tertiary and professional environment.
The changing musical landscape of today requires music tutors who can not only ensure good technique in the practical execution of traditional classical repertoire, but also facilitate student-led interests in a contemporary, multicultural, multistyle, and digital age.
I am passionate about music, and have worked diligently to help young people find the most rewarding practices and opportunities for development, relevant to their needs.
