Letter of Recommendation Louise McDonald – Vocal Coach

I would like to highly recommend Louise McDonald to you as a gifted vocal teacher. Louise is passionate about her craft and her teaching. Her love is evident in her enthusiastic and professional teaching approach.

Louise is a skilled, dedicated and a reliable teacher who is very patient with her students, working with each of them and encouraging them to bring out their very best.

As both a singer and a teacher, Louise is able to give students an overall understanding of the voice and how it works, singing techniques, tone, etc as well as the craft of performance.

Our daughter's began taking music lessons with Louise at the age of 13. While they had a love of music and had begun instrument lessons and playing in the school band in year three, they had not had any vocal tuition.

Our girls had an instant rapport with Louise. She is contemporary in her approach and was always open to their suggestions, working with them to find songs that not just suited their voice but that the girls were happy to perform. It was a very collaborative approach. Their voices and confidence developed quickly and they have continued their weekly 45 minute vocal lessons for over five years.

Louise also arranged opportunities for the girls to perform at a range of small concerts and recitals to help build their confidence.

Along with the technical aspects, Louise's tuition also covers the emotional aspect together with performance techniques and stage presence and the song choices for the HSC were relevant and appropriate which also contributed greatly to their outstanding result.

Both girls studied music 1 for HSC, electing to do all four electives in vocal performance and theory. They achieved total marks of 93 and 95 however the vocal performances achieved a perfect mark for the both of them. Louise was solely responsible for providing
the tuition and coaching step by step for the practical component of the HSC course.

One of our daughters has been accepted to a music education degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of music. Louise also instructed step by step with part of this achievment, studying and preparing 2 classical pieces. Our other daughter intends to continue her vocal lessons and performing but has chosen to pursue a degree in her first
passion, ancient history.

We are tremendously grateful to Louise for everything she has taught our daughters and the joy their music has brought and continues to bring to our family. It is a great pleasure to recommend Louise McDonald as a music teacher.

Sincerely
Laurel Robinson.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter of recommendation for Louise McDonald as a singing teacher.

My two daughters and son have taken singing lessons from
Louise for the past two years and they all absolutely love it.
I am tremendously grateful to her for everything she has taught my children and as with all children they have differing personalities, weaknesses and strengths and Louise is always
encouraging, enthusiastic and is extremely patient.

Louise is a gifted singer and voice teacher and is absolutely passionate about music which is evident in her enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques.

Lastly, although certainly perhaps the most important, she enjoys children and brings wonderful excitement to their singing experience. She creates relevant lesson plans that tap
into student interests.

I heartily endorse Louise for any singing teaching position for which she is applying, and if you have any questions at all, I am more than happy to talk with you in order to answer them

Kind Regards,

To Whom It May Concern,

I have known Louise McDonald for the past two years, in the capacity of singing teacher. Louise continues to teach my daughter and we would not dream of using anyone else.

Louise works on technical skills, singing technique, performance technique and audition skills. She provides a comprehensive range of vocal exercises and relevant reading materials.

When my daughter auditioned for the lead role in The Little Mermaid, Louise worked very intensely with her. Besides the technical detail to vocals, they worked on facial expression and movement. Louise made herself available for additional lessons in the lead up to the audition and with much hard work form both teacher and student, my daughter was successful in landing the role of Ariel.

Louise would be an asset to any organization and has my highest recommendation. If you have any queries or would like to talk to me with regards to this reference, please feel free to call me on 0452 239 070.

Yours Sincerely,

Elly Paterson
