Instrumental Lessons for kids are varied alternating between active and passive learning, with elements of Kodaly, Delacroze and Orff methods, and plenty of games. Rewards systems are implemented.
All music lesson levels incorporate aural and rhythm skills, technique, improvisation, goal-setting and embrace diverse music genres and recording as a tool for learning and for celebration of achievement.
Students wishing to sit exams through AMEB are encouraged and prepped to do so.
Often even more is learnt in a performance than in a lesson. It's also key to have goals to work towards and to celebrate successes.
Recitals near the end of terms 2 & 4 are offered in major venues such as the Melbourne Recital Centre, with professional documentation supplied.
Casual workshop style performances are offered in-house near the end of terms 1 & 3.
