My name is Sophia, and I am a viola/violin teacher in Queensland. I moved up here in 2020 to study a Bachelor of Music at UQ. I have had a large amount of teaching experience, as well as playing. I've been fortunate enough to be apart of the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Pulse Chamber Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra and many other ensembles in NSW and QLD.
My rate is currently $40/half hour and $80/an hour. I have taught from preliminary up to Grade 8 Level.
I am a passionate, enthusiastic teacher that wants to help inspire a love for music. I have a lot of experience within the AMEB framework, and Kodaly as well. I make sure to ensure good practice habits that work for students, and also to demonstrate diligence in practice. On a personal note, I have written about the importance of student/teacher relationships in regard to learning an instrument, as someone who experiences neurodiversity. I hope to instill the type of trust I have had with my own teachers with my own students.
