Mackson Music Studio

Hello.

Mackson Music Studio is run by siblings Will and Sophia Mackson.

Sophia is finishing her BMUS in Viola Performance, and has lived in Brisbane for several years. She has had a large amount of teaching experience, as well as playing. She has been fortunate enough to be apart of the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Pulse Chamber Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra and many other ensembles in NSW and QLD.

Will is a piano teacher who has had extensive experience in the field, teaching at the New England Conservatorium of Music in NSW. He has worked with a variety of ensembles, choirs and schools and an accompanist and teacher throughout the NSW Region. Will is moving to Brisbane in 2024, and will be accepting enquiries from March onwards.

Our studios rate is currently $40/half hour and $80/an hour. We have both taught from Preliminary Level up to Grade 8 Level.

We are passionate, enthusiastic teachers that want to help inspire a love for music. We have a lot of experience within the AMEB framework, and Kodaly as well. Making sure to ensure good practice habits that work for students and also demonstrating diligence in practice is of a large importance to us as teachers.

Sophia has written about the importance of student/teacher relationships in regard to learning an instrument, as someone who experiences neurodiversity. She hopes to instill the type of trust she have had with her own teachers with her own students. Our studio hopes to foster these kinds of relationships with students, in order to see them enjoy music and learning as much as possible.
