Maddy Wood

I began learning the violin at the age of 4 under the guidance of experienced teachers and have developed a strong passion for music. I have won multiple awards in various eisteddfods, was awarded an A for my CMus in 2019, and am currently working towards my AMusA Diploma.

I was a music scholar at PLC Sydney from Year 4, where I also served as Music Captain, and have recently graduated from Meriden School, also on a music scholarship. During my time at Meriden, I completed HSC Music 2 and Music Extension, receiving an Encore nomination for my violin performances. I was actively involved in numerous music ensembles, including orchestras, quartets, and choirs, and served as Choir Captain.

In addition to my violin studies, I hold an AMus (Teaching) Diploma in Speech and Drama and have extensive teaching experience, working with students of different ages and skill levels. I am passionate about fostering a love for music in my students and helping them build confidence through engaging and supportive lessons tailored to their individual goals.

I teach from my home in Croydon, which is conveniently located near Burwood and Ashfield, and I am also available to travel to students’ homes for lessons.
