Beginner-Intermediate Cello Lessons

Ideal for all ages, whether learning to play your first notes, picking up another instrument, or advancing your study at an intermediate level.

Many of my students are adults interested in learning cello for the first time. Adult students of music are at a slight disadvantage compared to their younger peers when starting to learn an instrument, because they tend to become more easily discouraged when what they are playing doesn’t sound like their favourite recording. My adult learners make fast progress that is only made possible by my unorthodox emphasis on two-way feedback and active listening by both student and teacher to support my students to reach their goals. I have an enthusiastic and engaging teaching style, with a strong focus on fostering a constructive and holistic mindset around music.

AMEB Certificate of Music Performance qualified classical cellist. Nominated for HSC Encore 2021 for performance. AMEB Musicianship grade 5 qualified. HSC Music 2 Band 6. Extensive orchestral and ensemble experience in the Sydney Youth Orchestras (Philharmonic Orchestra, 2018-2019), Sydney Youth Orchestras UK Tour (2019), Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Inaugural Sydney Production (cellist in core stage orchestra, 2019).

Currently studying PhB Science (Hons) and Advanced Chinese language at the Australian National University.
