Madi Morris is a versatile, contemporary guitarist based in Brisbane who received First Class Honours (2016) after graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar (Performance) in 2015 from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. During her years at the Conservatorium, Madi primarily practiced her craft with jazz guitarist and composer, Toby Wren, and also studied for a short time under world acclaimed British classical guitarist, Julian Byzantine.
Madi has worked at both private schools and studios as a guitar, bass guitar and ensemble teacher. She now pursues her passion for music education as a teacher at Cannon Hill Anglican College and her private studio in Bulimba.
As of July 2021, she commenced a PhD at the Queensland Conservatorium researching Instrumental Music Teachers in Australia.
Madi also performs regularly in Brisbane psych-rock-folk collective, Golden Age of Ballooning, who are back with their third EP entitled "Illusion of Control".
Straight off the back of their latest tour, "Illusion of Control" had the band touring again with shows across Brisbane, Melbourne, Launceston, Hobart, Sydney and Canberra.
GAOB have supported the following bands: British India, Wolfmother and Swedish psych-rock masters Dungen.
