Our teachers are specialists in their instrument, tertiary qualified to perform and educate at a very high level.
The lessons incorporate rhythm studies, advanced aural training, audition preparation, assistance with performance anxiety, ensemble skill training, and analysis of orchestral music. There is also opportunity for students to be mentored in a small chamber ensemble to develop chamber music skills and performance.
About Our Director - Anna Coe:
Anna is a talented performing musician and dedicated teacher, residing in inner-city Brisbane. Her playing career has taken her all over Australia, performing with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra, Southern Cross Soloists, and the Queensland Pops Orchestra.
Born in Brisbane, Anna graduated her Bachelor of Music from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours. During her undergraduate years, Anna performed as Principal Flute with the Queensland Youth Symphony and University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra. She received the Queensland Flute Society’s James Carson Memorial Prize in 2015 and was presented the Woodwind Award in the Australian Concerto Competiton in 2016. In 2017, Anna was invited to join the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne to commence the Professional Performance Program for Flute under the tutelage of Virginia Taylor.
As an educator, Anna was employed by Musica Viva In Schools and Arcadia Winds to present a series of primary school concerts in Metropolitan and Rural New South Wales.
Anna's flute tuition specialises in tertiary preparation and educating students in the celebrated French Flute School method.
