Marcy is a classical pianist who works as a private music tutor and accompanist. She has been accompanying instrumentalists and teaching piano since 2014 and offers teaching and accompaniment services from her home studio in Sydney’s Inner West.
Marcy began teaching piano in 2014 in a studio in the Northern Beaches. She has since then been consistently working on educational methods, including classes on early, intermediate and adult musical education. Marcy can teach for leisure or exams including AMEB, ensuring students have a solid foundation in theory, sightreading and aural skills. She can teach a wide range of styles of music, from baroque to boogie-woogie.
Since 2015, Marcy has been working on her accompaniment skills, ensuring she has experience in accompanying string instruments, brass, woodwind and voice as well as ensembles. She has accompanied for AMEB exams, auditions and events.
Marcy completed a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano in 2018, being given the honour to be the student speaker for her graduating cohort. She has performed solo music at venues such as The Sydney Royal Easter Show and other local venues around Sydney. She has also music directed and arranged and performed in Revues and University shows.
The safety of all students and instrumentalists is of the utmost importance, and with that in mind, Marcy holds a current Apply First Aid Certificate, as well as a Working With Children Check.
Please note for accompaniment services sufficient time is required to learn pieces before exams or performances. Rehearsals are also crucial to success. Short notice fees may be applicable if given less than two weeks’ notice.
