Information about me:
My name is Marcus and I am currently completing secondary studies in Special Music. As part of those studies I participate in the Senior Wind Ensemble and Big Band.
I am Grade 6 in clarinet, Grade 4 equivalent in Saxophone and Grade 3 in Music Theory.
I am a member of the Adelaide Youth Wind Orchestra (ADYWO) and play with the Mitcham Orchestra every Saturday afternoon. I have participated in SA Music Camp since 2011 and have experience in auditions and exam preparation.
I am currently participating in the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Professional Pathways Program and recently played with the ASO Big Rehearsal in the Advanced Orchestra. I recently received a Participation Certificate in Teacher Professional Learning with Richard Gill AO, “Music Everyday: Inspiring Creators and Participators”.
In 2016 I was also selected to participate in the ASO Petrushka Project with Paul Rissman, which involved composition and performance of Stravinsky’s work which was very exciting. It has inspired me to become involved in teaching other aspiring musicians.
I am currently being taught by First Clarinet of the ASO. I own a pair of Buffet professional model clarinets.
Information about my lessons:
I am looking to take students from Preliminary (Beginner) to Grade 2 in Clarinet. I am available to teach from my home in Prospect in the afternoons on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 and Wednesdays from 4.30 - 5.30, and on Saturday mornings 9.30am - 12.30pm. I may be able to teach at your home, but we would need to discuss this further and would depend on your location.
The lessons I will be conducting will be 30 minutes long and will cost $20.
Please feel free to call or text me to organise a free trial lesson. In this lesson I can let you know what I can offer you. We will then have a short lesson and find out if I am the right teacher for you or your child!
