I have been living in Melbourne since the summer of 2016/2017, having previously lived and worked in Armidale (regional NSW) and Sydney. Teaching since 1998, I have taught violin and viola to students from beginners to tertiary level and from four-year-olds to adults. I have taught in my home studio as well as in several schools, including Blackburn High School; the New England Girls' School, Armidale; The Armidale School; The Armidale Waldorf School; Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta; Meriden School, Strathfield; and The Kings' School, Parramatta. I currently teach at violin & viola at Camberwell High School, Camberwell Girls’ Grammar School and Coburg West Primary School.
I have successfully prepared students for AMEB, Trinity and HSC exams as well as for many auditions. In 2016, one of my students placed second in the NSW HSC Music 1 course and I have had several students nominated for the NSW Encore concert following outstanding performances in their HSC exams. I have had several students go on to tertiary music study.
My own tertiary studies include a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Sydney, an 18-month postgraduate violin study at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz in Austria and a Master of Teaching (Secondary) degree at the University of New England.
I have performed violin, viola and baroque violin in many ensembles. Some highlights are being concertmaster of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra, baroque violinist in the ensemble Stringybark, violinist in the Amberwood Duo, working with great singers at Opera in the Paddock and performing the soloist role in both the Barber Violin Concerto and the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No.2 with the Armidale Symphony Orchestra. I am currently enjoying playing in the Azure Piano Trio.
