I am a jazz saxophonist, woodwind doubler, and composer & arranger from New York City now based in Wollongong. I've worked with beginning students for ten years, as well as adults and advanced jazz improvisers. I'll make a lesson plan tailored to your goals and interests, no matter what your skill level is- getting to the next level should be fun! I have a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University and a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University of New Jersey. As a professional musician I've toured internationally and played with Grammy winning artists like Gordon Goodwin, John Clayton, and Christian McBride. I've played in venues like Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in New York City, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Lord Kitchener Auditorium in Trinidad & Tobago. I recently won "Outstanding Arrangement" and "Best Latin Group" in the 2018 DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards in the graduate category. My teachers have included jazz giants like Rodney Whitaker, Vincent Herring, Rich Perry, and Cecil Bridgewater; as well as saxophone pedagogues Taimur Sullivan and David Demsey.
