Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute Lessons

I am a professional clarinettist on staff at Shelford Girls' Grammar. I teach students from the junior school to year 12, also directing ensembles such as the Inter band for year 5 to year 8, Senior Concert band and Jazz Ensemble. I am a teacher at Wesley College.
I have recently made the move to Upwey and I am keen to use my skills and experience to help the young aspiring musicians in the Yarra Ranges area.
I have had over 20 years experience in taking students (of all ages from Year. 3 to adults) through AMEB exams, VCE , scholarship auditions, as well as playing for pleasure in different styles from classical to Jazz and pop.
As a parent myself I know how important it is to inspire children to strive to the best of their abilities. Their school years are when many skills are developing and it is a good to start developing healthy and positive work habits at this time , I strive to bring out the best on my students and encourage them to enjoy practicing, this can be a good alternative to looking at a computer or phone screen. Also being skilled on an instrument gives them opportunities to be involved with ensembles at their school. My students maintain good results in all AMEB exams.

I am a sought after professional clarinetist/ saxophonist playing with many and diverse artists and ensembles in the Melbourne music scene. My skills as a performer/ composer I see as part of my dynamic and inspirational teaching practice.
I accompany students on piano and I believe in making music lessons fun.
I also hire out instruments to beginners.
