Matt R J Ward is professional singer (Opera/ Music Theatre). Stage credits include the roles of Messenger in Life to Come (written and directed by Stephen Fry), Western Union Boy in English Touring Opera’s Olivier Award Winning Paul Bunyan, Andres/ Cochenille/ Frantz in Tales of Hoffmann (ETO), Giacomo in L’assedio di Calais (Armel Operafesztivál Budapest, Arte live broadcast, ETO), Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte (Mid Wales Opera) and Borsa in Rigoletto (Opera Project).
For the West Australian Opera, Matt performed as Mercury in Orpheus in the Underworld, A Lawyer and the Rector Horace Adams (cover) in Peter Grimes (Co-production WA Opera, Opera Australia & Houston Grand Opera), and Nanki-Poo (cover) in The Mikado.
Matt is currently the director of the Vocal Performance Initiative providing singing and voice lessons to a broad range of professional to amateur singers between the United Kingdom and Australia.
