Matthew Tsalidis

Hailing from Wollongong, Matthew Tsalidis is one of the Illawarra's most active
musicians, with performances across the region and beyond.

Matthew began his violin studies at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music
with Scott Taggart, then at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (University of
Sydney), with Dr. Evgeny Sorkin, completing a Bachelor of Music
(Performance).

Matthew has performed at the iconic Sydney Opera House, the Capitol and
Lyric Theatres, and continues his performance engagements with the George
Ellis Orchestra at venues including the State Theatre, Canberra Theatre, Civic
Theatre (Newcastle), and City Recital Hall (Sydney).

Matthew has played in and guest led the St George Chamber Orchestra
(Sydney), performing alongside members of the Opera Australia Orchestra,
and currently plays with Steel City Strings - the Illawarra's premiere chamber
ensemble.

His musical theatre credits include Chicago, Into The Woods, Priscilla - Queen
Of The Desert, Singin' In The Rain, The Little Mermaid, The Sound Of Music,
Wicked, Fiddler On The Roof, West Side Story, and My Fair Lady.

Off stage, Matthew is a dedicated violin teacher through his own studio.
