Matthew is an experienced pianist and violist whose teaching style adapts to each student’s individual needs. From his extensive experience in performing, recording, conducting, mentoring, tutoring and teaching, he has proven and effective methods to offer every student.

Matthew’s well-rounded experience across solo, chamber and orchestral music provides students with exclusive access to a unique bank of musical knowledge. He has been awarded the Licentiate Diploma in Music with Distinction (LMusA with Distinction) for piano, the Licentiate Diploma in Music with Distinction (LMusA with Distinction) for viola, the Associate Diploma in Music with Distinction (AMusA with Distinction) for piano, and the Associate Diploma in Music (AMusA) for viola. He completed VCE Music Performance with full marks for the practical exam. Matthew has won over 100 major prizes at a variety of competitions, performed several piano concertos with orchestras, and has broadcast on live radio.

Matthew strives to help students fulfil their potential. His experience ensures a platform for students to thrive, in AMEB exams, VCE Music Performance, music theory and general knowledge. He is a strong advocate for both technique and musicality in order to attain the highest levels of musicianship for individual students in an enjoyable and adaptable lesson environment.

Matthew is also a "practice teacher" to help students with their individual practice.

Matthew is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He holds a valid Working With Children Check.
