Max Koenig

  • Bachelor Of Music (Jazz Performance) - Western Australia Academy Of Performing Arts

Hi! My name is Max, and I would love to guide you on your saxophone journey.

Playing saxophone (the best instrument of them all) has given me the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I would love to share my passion with you.

With over a decade of experience as a woodwind educator and performer, I bring both technical expertise and a passion for nurturing student growth in music. Since 2013, I’ve worked as a private saxophone tutor, teaching students from age 8 through to VCE level and mature aged students. My teaching style is tailored to each student’s learning style and musical interests, while maintaining a strong emphasis on foundational skills and ensemble readiness.
Beyond teaching, I’m an active performer in a range of genres including jazz, contemporary and world music. I’ve performed locally, interstate and internationally, including a tour of China and performances at major festivals such as Federation Square’s Pillars of Light, Dark Mofo in Tasmania and the National Folk Festival in Canberra. This diverse performance background allows me to bring first-hand music industry experience and a wide-ranging musical perspective into my lessons, aiming to captivate and inspire students and nurture their love of music.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested!
I would love to be your saxophone teacher.
Thank you.
