Mel Heinrich has been playing cello for over 14 years and has achieved a high level of musical proficiency. She attended Meriden Anglican School for Girls on a Music Scholarship, where she was appointed Music Prefect in Year 12 and received the first ranking in her classes for both Music 2 and Extension Music. She was also awarded School Colours (with a focus on music) at graduation.
As of 2017, Melinda has just completed a BMUS Performance Degree in Cello at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied under the guidance of Georg Pedersen. During 2016, she participated in an overseas exchange at The University of Colorado, Boulder where she studied with Professor David Requiro.
Along with a passion for ensemble playing and orchestral repertoire, she is enthusiastic about musical education & learning, and has built up a strong teaching base, working with students of all ages and levels.
Currently, Mel labels herself as a freelance musician and eager to take on new students.
