B Mus - Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Dip. Ed. - University of Wollongong
Hi, I’m Melanie and I love playing and teaching violin!
I have been teaching violin since 2004 and I have always aimed for a balance of fun, musicality and skill building. My aim is always to encourage and inspire students to achieve their best violin playing. I am very friendly, fun and full of praise for good work!
My violin teaching qualifications include a Bachelor of Music, Violin Performance, from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Diploma of Education from the University of Wollongong. I have nine years experience teaching violin to students from Kindergarten to year 12 and during that time I have tutored violin privately and at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music, Shellharbour Anglican College, Mark Thornton’s Music Studio and Robertson Public School. At Shellharbour Anglican school I was also the String Ensemble coordinator and a Stage 2 Music Teacher for 2010-2011.
My violin performance experience includes professional performance in ensembles such as WIN Wollongong Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Sinfonia. I also enjoy performing electric violin in the classical pop group ‘String Angels,’ (an internationally popular corporate act by Mark Bradley International). Additionally I have been performing regularly at weddings in the self created ‘Grace Duo’ violin ensemble since 2001.
