Melanie Stewart is an experienced and passionate Music Teacher who offers quality learning opportunities to all ages and skill levels. Students enjoy the music making journey and the rewarding outcomes. Parents remark on improvements in other areas of their child's education, such as progress in literacy and numeracy and above all, improved self-confidence.
Lessons are tailored to suit the individual and a holistic approach underlies the programme. A range of repertoire is drawn upon regardless of whether studying for an exam or not, and throughout the term students also engage in sight reading, aural development, composition, improvisation and theory. Revising musical concepts through games for the younger learner is always engaging, especially when they team up with a parent.
Students may be prepared for AMEB, Trinity as well as ABRSM examinations. Ms Stewart's students perform at a consistently high level with 80% receiving a Credit, Distinction or High Distinction in exam situations.
The Studio has both acoustic and digital pianos sitting side by side, allowing Ms Stewart to demonstrate musical ideas as well as play duets with the student, resulting in a fluid and effective lesson.
Performance opportunities are offered throughout the year with the End of Semester Recitals a wonderful occasion for students to share their achievements with family and friends.
