Associate Diploma of Music Performance - Flute
I’ve been playing flute for just over 30 years up and down the east coast of Australia. My experience in performance includes concert bands, orchestral, ensembles and both professional and amateur musical and stage productions, and most recently 5 years full time with the Australian Army Band, where i also qualified on also sax and studied jazz for three years. Prior to that experience i played classical saxophone.
I have taught for the past 15 years, in schools prior to Army, and privately inclisively and for all of the other time. Students as young as 8 up to 67!
I encourage lessons for all ages, styles, goals and abilities. Whether you want to work towards and examination or learn purely for enjoyment and leisure.
All students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals to further smooth their performance abilities. There is also the option to study towards practical examinations which are an excellent goal to work towards and to further improve their level of playing.
Music Theory goes hand in hand with learning the foundations of music and performance and is the best way to get an understanding of why you are playing what you are playing.
