Melinda Seaw has performed regularly as a soloist and in chamber music in Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Finland, Italy and Austria. In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th years, Melinda has been selected by Sakari Oramo to perform Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4 with conductor Chloé Dufresne and the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 12, Melinda was awarded Bronze prize in ASEAN International Competition and Masterclasses in Korea. As the Most Outstanding Diploma Candidate, Melinda has been awarded AMEB LmusA with Distinction and the VMTA's prestigious Kault Prize and was invited to perform at the AMEB Conferring of Diplomas Ceremony. Melinda has broadcasted live on 3MBS as part of their Talent Series 2 and 3. Having an interest in collaborative projects, Melinda performed at the Amox Rex Piano Serenata for Le Chat Doré exhibition. As a chamber musician, Melinda was invited to perform Haydn’s “Gypsy” Trio in G major at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of Top Sounds. Dvorak Piano trio no. 3 and Cafe Music by Schoenfield in Savonlinna Chamber Music Festival. Faure Piano Quartet in C minor and Dvorak Piano Quintet in A major No.2 in the Chamber Music Week of Sibelius Academy and Mozarteum University.
In 2021, Melinda completed her Masters of Piano Performance and Pedagogical studies at the Sibelius Academy under the tutelage of Ilmo Ranta and Antti Hotti. Prior to her postgraduate studies in Europe, Melinda completed her early musical training with Glenn Riddle at the Melbourne Conservatorium and Victorian College of Arts Secondary School, where she was named Dux of the school. In 2018, Melinda was invited to participate in Erasmus+ program at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg where she studied with Claudius Tanski. She has also participated in masterclasses of Robert Levin, Malcolm Bilson, Björn Lehmann, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Denis Pascal, Henri Sigfridsson, Bernd Goetzke, Paavali Jumppanen and many others.
Melinda has had 8 years of teaching experiences. She aims to inspire students to be curious, explore and discover their own talents through encouraging student-centered and autonomous learning. She conveys her passion for the piano through a captivating yet enjoyable way which students are able to understand easily and have the utmost fun in lessons. She has completed pedagogical studies in Sibelius Academy and has experiences teaching all ages.
