Melinda Seaw has performed regularly as a soloist and in chamber music in Australia, Malaysia, Korea, Finland, Italy and Austria. In 2008, Melinda was awarded Bronze prize in ASEAN International Competition and Masterclasses in Korea. In 2013, Melinda was invited to perform in a piano trio at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of Top Sounds. She has been awarded AMEB LmusA with Distinction and the VMTA's prestigious Kault Prize for Most Outstanding Diploma Candidate, and was invited to perform at the AMEB Conferring of Diplomas Ceremony. Besides that, Melinda has broadcasted on 3MBS as part of their Talent Series 2 and 3. In 2017, Melinda has participated in Savonlinna Chamber Music Festival, performing Dvorak Piano trio no. 3 and Cafe Music by Schoenfield. In 2018, Melinda performed Faure Piano Quartet in C minor in the Chamber Music Week of Sibelius Academy. In 2019, Melinda performed in Associazone Culturalee ControTempo in Italy. Recently, Melinda has been selected to perform Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4 with the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra by Sakari Oramo with the conducting class concert.
Melinda completed her early musical training with Glenn Riddle in Australia at the Victorian College of Arts Secondary School, where she was named Dux of the school. In 2016, she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in the University of Melbourne, and is now pursuing her Masters of Piano Performance at the Sibelius Academy under the tutelage of Ilmo Ranta and Antti Hotti. In 2018, Melinda was accepted to study at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg as an Erasmus student where she studied with Claudius Tanski. She has participated in masterclasses of Erik T. Tawaststjerna, Eero Heinonen, Robert Levin, Malcolm Bilson, Björn Lehmann, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Denis Pascal, Henri Sigfridsson and Bernd Goetzke.
Melinda has started teaching at the age of 17. She is genuinely enthusiastic and a responsible teacher who provides a suitable learning environment for students. She conveys her passion for the piano through a captivating yet enjoyable way which students are able to understand easily and have the utmost fun in lessons. She has completed pedagogical studies in Sibelius Academy and has experiences teaching all ages.
