Artist Biography:

Mestre Jeronimo has been active for 50 years in the field of creative arts nationally and internationally and holds long time experience working with Brazilian Capoeira Culture, Brazilian Music-MPB, Classical, Folk, Jazz, Rock, World Fusion; in commercial performance, musical direction and artistic management.

Living in Brazil, Europe and Australia he gained knowledge of the Brazilian, French, Spanish, English, German, and Italian languages.

Born and raised in the Amazon jungle he spent 20 years working as a full time and part-time bassist in symphonic orchestras and have been a member and conductor in classical and folkloric vocal and instrumental ensembles in Brazil and Australia. Mestre Jeronimo has a Master of Music (Composition) qualification of the University of Sydney; amid other qualifications.

His top achievement is to keep carrying on as an exemplary model of person inspiring the educational lifestyle and well-being of his dear daughter Marina, born and raised in Bondi Beach.

In his youth Mestre Jeronimo achieved national volleyball rank in Brazil and his best hobby is to teach and play beach volley with his family and friends in Bondi Beach.

Using his interpersonal skills and naturally engaging personality Mestre Jeronimo pioneered the establishment of the first Australian School of Capoeira in Sydney at the Bondi Pavilion Community Cultural Center, in January 1988. He teaches Capoeira and its Culture for a variety of events in Australia and internationally.

Working as a writer, composer and multi instrumentalist Mestre Jeronimo has recorded his original works in various genres, toured extensively and published bilingual books and music methods.
