Micaela is a professional orchestral and concert performer, music educator, registered Music Therapist, examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), and composer. After attending the Sydney Conservatorium high school, she gained her Bmus with high distinction, her Masters (music therapy) at the Sydney University of Technology (UTS) and Melbourne University, and her PhD at Sydney University with adjunctive research through Melbourne University. Her innovative research addressed the sociological foundations of Performance Dysfunction in music students and career musicians. Her career as a concert musician spans 40 years during which time she worked regularly with the major Australian symphony, opera, and ballet orchestras, and held principal positions with many music theatre productions in Australia and overseas.

Micaela's involvement in music education spans 40 years within the school and tertiary systems, including lecturer in woodwinds and piano at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, Penrith Conservatorium, the University of NSW, and UTS. Roles included instrumental tuition, tutoring of chamber ensembles, direction of symphonic wind orchestras, and head of music departments. As an examiner for the Australian Music Examiner's Board (AMEB), she has expert knowledge of the woodwind and piano syllabus, and progression through AMEB examinations toward undergraduate, and postgraduate university requirements to professional level.

As a Music Therapist, Micaela has post-graduate qualification (MA, PhD) and extensive experience in teaching students with special needs, and neurological and physiological disabilities - Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, visual impairment and total blindness, Downs Syndrome, and ADHD. Tuition is tailored to each student's unique needs with music therapy based programs specifically designed to support each disability.
