I have been teaching approximately 60-70 students per week at reputable Canberra schools and at my home studio for over 20 years. Schools include:

DIRECTOR OF ENSEMBLES AND PERCUSSION
RADFORD COLLEGE, CANBERRA (SEPT 2017 – DEC 2018)
My role as director consisted of continuing the tutoring and conducting percussion ensembles and Beginner Instrumental Program, overseeing the Rock Ensemble Program, and managing rock band and percussion tutors. I was also responsible for maintenance of drums and percussion instruments, and ordering equipment.
CONDUCTOR (JAN 2000 – DEC 2018) RADFORD COLLEGE, CANBERRA
In addition to private tutoring, I tutored and conducted several of the school’s ensembles including Cross Rhythm Percussion Ensemble, Precision Percussion Ensemble, Junior Jazz Ensemble, Rock bands, and Beginner Instrumental Program.

OBJECTIVE
To build the percussion talent of music programs in education institutions through drum tuition and conducting school bands (ie, concert, percussion, rock, and drum lines).
SKILLS
Excellent rapport with students and parents, structured and tailored music lessons to suit the individual student, advanced sight reading abilities in live performance for any band in any style.

EDUCATION B.MUS.A (HONS) 2000
AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL OF MUSIC, CANBERRA
Specialised in drums with particular interest in jazz history and ensemble performance, Studies also included classical, contemporary, composition, theory, and technology/audio engineering, Extracurricular activities included School of Music Big Band and Vocal Group.

LEADERSHIP
I have produced many successful graduates who have completed studies and are also currently at the ANU School of Music, VCA in Melbourne and JMI School of Music to name a few. I have taken numerous students through their ANZCA drum exams from grade one to grade eight and helped many complete their A.Mus.A diploma exams including tutoring in the required music theory requirements. I have also trained students for the AUDW (Australian Ultimate drummers weekend) to compete in the contest for Australia’s best up and coming drummer. I have successfully had students place a 1st and 3rd in the open division and a 1st and 3rd place in the under 12s as well as students in training for the upcoming 2019 AUDW.
