Michael’s engagements as a performer, adjudicator, and over 10 years teaching and lecturing have assisted in providing students the skills to consistently achieve High Distinctions in advanced AMEB grades.
After having only completed grade 2 piano, Michael proceeded to successfully complete his AMusA in 2010 and LMusA in 2012. In 2015 after auditioning for entry into a Bachelor of Music course at the Australian Institute of Music, he was instead offered a place as a post-graduate student and went on to complete his Masters of Classical Piano Performance in 2017.
Michael studied piano with Dr Suzanna Hlinka and Dr Wojciech Wisniewski, and has performed in the public masterclasses of Prof. Inge Rosar and Prof. Alexey Sokolov. His final recital included Rachmaninoff's 3rd piano concerto 1st mvt, and other works by Bach, Beethoven, Field and Volodos/Liszt. He has performed at the Sydney Opera House and won prizes in competitions including the Sydney Eisteddfod.
In 2016 Michael was invited to adjudicate in the ACASEA International Piano Competition in Sydney, together with Dr. Kirill Monorosi and Carl Schmidt.
