Michelle Kim

I have +10 years of teaching experiences and have taught students at all age groups. I not only undertake general teaching tasks, but also try to develop students’ appreciation of music through practical skills and encourage them to expand their interests in music.

Flutist Michelle Kim has achieved her bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance and Music Theory at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, where she studied with Montreal Symphony Principal Timothy Hutchins. Michelle completed her exchange studies at Sibelius-Akatemia in Helsinki, Finland under Professor Mikael Helasvuo.

Born in Seoul, Michelle began piano lessons at the age of five, and as her love and passion for music deepened time by time, at 12, she started her flute studies. Just three years later, at the age of fifteen, she became the principal flutist of the London Youth Symphony. She has played with numerous ensembles and had received many prizes and awards from various competitions and festivals.
