Are you a beginner looking to start lessons? Or have you been playing a while and looking to further your skills?

Michelle has been teaching piano and guitar for 20 years now and it is her passion to inspire her students to learn and progress to the best of their abilities.

Michelle is devoted to tailoring the lessons to meet the needs of the individual. Whether you want to focus on learning how to read music, play your favourite songs or learn music theory, she will design a lesson plan to meet the needs of the student. It is her mission to make the lessons as engaging as possible with the use of learning games and flash cards for younger students.

Lessons plans can include:
Beginners:

  • Learn basic chords/rhythm strumming methods
  • Learn how to play in time
  • Start to read music or TAB notation
  • Learn songs by ear

Intermediate:

  • Learn efficient ways to memorise notes on the fretboard
  • Patterns for scales and arpeggios
  • Intervals
  • Sight reading skills
  • How to improvise and make up solos using pentatonic scale
  • Intermediate rhythm and strumming patterns
  • 7th chords, sus chords.

Michelle’s goal as a music educator is to instil a love for music and help students develop into self-sufficient creative musicians. She incorporates technique, theory, musicianship and songs in a fun and relaxed manner.

ABOUT Michelle:

Michelle has been playing piano since the young age of 6 and has been passionate about music ever since. As a teenager she expanded her musical studies to include guitar and flute. Although now focuses on guitar as it is her favourite instrument.
Apart from her general appreciation of music, the diversity of styles that Michelle has enjoyed and experienced can be largely attributed to her time spent at Box Hill Institute College of Music in Melbourne where she studied the Diploma of Music Performance (Contemporary) 2002 - 2003. From a young age she has worked very hard on her musicianship skills and has undertaken many AMEB exams.

I do home visit lessons in certain suburbs, please check for availability.

Lessons are billed by the school term. If for some reason you can't make a lesson I will happily arrange a make up lesson on a weekend or school holidays. If you are an adult looking for occasional lessons please contact me and we can discuss.

Please email michellelevi@gmail.com all enquiries and she will respond as soon as possible.
