Michelle is a professional freelance musician, having been a Bachelor of Music (Hons) and Master of Music (Performance) graduate from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. During her studies she was the recipient of a number of scholarships including the Gardiner, Grace Funston, Faculty Merit and John Hellyar scholarhips.
Following her studies, Michelle was awarded the Robert and Elizabeth Albert Piano Fellowship with The Australian Ballet, working in Melbourne and Sydney. Other touring engagements as an accompanist include Houston Ballet’s Summer Intensive (2015), The Australian Ballet’s Regional Tour (2018), the Australian Welsh Male Choir’s tours through Asia and the United Kingdom (2017 and 2018, respectively), JTM Production’s Practically Perfect through regional Australia and Opera Australia’s National Tour (2021).
As a Melbourne pianist, Michelle has been a pit musician for myriad productions including Disney’s Aladdin, GWB and The Australian Ballet’s An American in Paris, Opera Australia’s Miss Saigon, and Michael Cassel Group’s & Juliet. Michelle is regularly engaged by schools and Melbourne University as an accompanist.
Michelle works predominantly from her studio in St Kilda East.
