About the Teacher:
Mikaela was accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School at the age of thirteen, majoring in piano. The following year, she received a second scholarship to study composition and by this time, she had completed her Amusa on the violin.
As a pianist, Mikaela has played solo and chamber music in cities and regional areas of Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales and ACT. She has played in orchestral settings and as an accompanist, working with a variety of instrumentalists, vocalists and choral groups. Internationally, Mikaela performed in the Neue Galerie in New York in a piano duo.
She is also the recipient of the “Margaret Schofield” Scholarship, for the top music student in the state and the “John and Dorothy Vimpani Pianoforte Fund“ upon entering the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
With several years of teaching experience, she now studies and works in Sydney.
