Ming Yeung Li is graduated at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Master of Music Performance. Prior to studying at MCM, Li obtained his diploma in Performing Arts at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and Bachelor of Music in Iceland Academy of the Art under the tutelage of Jessica Buzbee. During his studies at the University of Melbourne, he plays in the University Orchestra as the principal trombone, and as one of the soloists with the Orchestra in the concert conducted by Christian Lindberg. Additionally, he won the MCM’s Brass Solo Competition and played as the soloist with the MCM Brass Ensemble. In 2013, Li joined the Sydney International Brass Festival and played with Don Immel, Steve Rosse in a premiered piece. Li is active in different fields of performing. He has performed in numerous orchestras as the freelance trombonist including Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra, ORKESTER Norhdern, Iceland Music Festival Tour to Amsterdam,
Il Divo Live Orchestra in Hong Kong, and Australian Music Theatre Orchestra. He has also performed and recorded in both Bjork and Mía Maestro’s albums. In 2009 and 2012, Li played with Hong Kong Symphony Society Youth Orchestra as a soloist tour to Taiwan.
