Monica Haworth

  • Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Vocal Performance & Music Education)
  • Bachelor of Creative Industries (Drama & Creative Industries Management)

Monica is a music teacher based in north-west Brisbane. Private lessons take place in an air-conditioned home studio.

Monica has been training and performing in the arts for twenty-five years. She has studied dance, drama, singing and music in one way or another since the age of four. Once she realised her dreams of dancing Coppelia on the ballet stages of the world were unlikely to come true, she turned her attention to acting and singing. She excelled in drama classes at school and commenced voice training at age 16. She enjoyed studying many genres and disciplines through her schooling years and beyond and found a particular passion for jazz, cabaret and musical theatre. Recently she has returned to studying piano and is currently preparing to take her AMEB Grade 5 Classical exam.

Monica has performed at venues including The Brisbane Jazz Club, MetroArts, The Schonell Theatre, and the Concert Hall at Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

Monica holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Drama and Creative Industries Management from Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music from Southern Cross University majoring in Voice Performance and Music Education. Recently she completed voice pedagogy training in Levels I, II and III of Somatic Voicework (TM) The LoVetri Method at Artsworx, University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.

Monica has taught dance and movement to preschool age children, primary after-school drama classes, and private and group singing to dance students. She adores the arts in all its forms and couldn't imagine doing anything else with her life. She loves nothing more than sharing her passion with everyone she meets and looks forward to sharing it with YOU!
