Monica Rallabhandi

Hi!

My name is Monica and I am currently in my fourth year of a music degree at the University of Western Australia, specialising in violin performance. During this time, I went on a four month long exchange program at the University of Toronto (Uoft), where I played in the UofT symphony orchestra and received lessons from several esteemed Canadian violinists. During my time at UWA, I have had numerous opportunities to play with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and with the WA Opera, such as in a production of Dido and Aneas in 2024.

Over the last few years, I have been part of numerous ensembles around Perth. I have been a member of the Western Australian Youth Orchestra (WAYO) for the past 5 years, and currently hold the position of concertmaster, for which I received the Peter Moore Scholarship in 2025. As a member of WAYO, I have performed alongside WASO in 3 side-by-side projects. In 2023, I participated in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp in Adelaide. I have also performed with Cygnus Arioso, the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra and the WA Ballet.

I would like to provide a technically sound and musically nourishing foundation for students about to embark on their musical journey, or for those well on their way.
