Theory teaches students musical terms, keys, intervals, chords, rhythm, transposition and general music knowledge. There is no aural component. Graded exams are for grades 1 to Licentiate Diploma.
Monica prepares students for AMEB Theory and Musicianship exams. Students who play a musical instrument should also study the theory of music. For AMEB grades 7+, it is a core requisite for students to have completed the relevant grade either in theory or musicianship or music craft.
Monica has been teaching theory to students in Sydney for 10 years. Students have received results of 90%+ in all grades examined.
