Offering: private piano and music theory lessons.
Background: Kalika studied piano, music theory, and pedagogy at the University of Queensland and the University of New England. Her knowledge ranges from classical to contemporary styles, and also possesses skills in songwriting and composition. Currently, she is completing a Master's in Primary Education through the University of New England.
Teaching since 2009, Kalika is very familiar with the AMEB system, and has helped many of her students undertake the graded exams 1-8 with great success. Her teaching style has been praised for being fun, engaging, and challenging, as she understands the importance of meeting the needs of each student, and helping them build upon their current skills.
Kalika's style has proven successful for children aged 3+, as well as teen, adult, and middle-aged learners. No one is too old to realise their dreams of being a musician, and so, she hopes to encourage those who have long put off learning the piano to finally enter into the music scene.
The nature of lessons are one-to-one, and prospective clients can choose to have their lessons via Skype, at their address, or her home studio.
Bilingual, Kalika can give lessons in both English and Japanese, if there is a language barrier.
