Natalie Williams is an experienced brass tutor and band conductor specialising in classical French horn. She also offers lessons in trumpet, cornet, tenor horn, baritone, trombone, euphonium and tuba.
Natalie’s teaching practice focuses on:
-Solid foundations in technique
-Musicality & sound
-Theoretical & historical contexts
-Passion & fun in music making
Before moving to QLD, Natalie taught brass and horn students at numerous private and public schools all throughout Adelaide, as well as having her own private studio practice. She was the musical director & conductor of the Hahndorf Junior Band as well as the Salvation Army; Just Brass Band Program in Ingle Farm.
Growing up in a musical family, she understands the challenges and senses of achievement which students go through to learn and master an instrument. She is also experienced in teaching children with learning difficulties such as autism. As such, Natalie is an extremely patient and encouraging teacher who always helps students to strive for their best and enjoy playing, regardless of age or skill level. Both young and mature-aged students have always enjoyed her lessons. Natalie has the ability to see players develop and improve greatly with regular, efficient practice & discipline. Such skills are required of all students who commit to lessons.
Natalie successfully completed her BMus-Hons (Classical Performance) on horn during 2016 at the prestigious Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide.
She has been freelancing as a musician, conductor and brass tutor since 2014. Her teachers have included Adrian Uren (Principle 1st Horn, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra [ASO]), Philip Paine (Principle 3rd Horn, ASO) and Sarah Barrett (Assoc. Principle 1st Horn, ASO).
