My name is Nat Brice and I am looking for enthusiastic people who want to learn piano! I can teach anyone from children to adults in a way that will improve your piano playing that is easy to understand but most of all, fun!
I went to Marryatville High School as a special interest music student and received a 20/20 for music theory (jazz) and arranging in my SACE results. I have an Associates Diploma in piano and went to study at the Adelaide Con for 2 years in the Bachelor of Music with classical piano but then changed to jazz and completed 2 years before touring commitments took over.
I played in The Australian Beatles as a session musician and travelled around the country and overseas playing in their tribute show that consisted of a full orchestra. The highlights were playing in the Sydney Opera House, recording in Abbey Road Studios and performing in Liverpool to 40,000 people.
I then moved to Darwin to play keyboard in a cover band for 11 years, doing 5-6 gigs a week. These were as a full 4-5 piece and as a duo with a drummer or guitarist. This was probably the best education in performing as the styles varied from dance nightclubs, quiet solo jazz piano to corporate events and supporting local, national and international acts.
I have also performed in string ensembles (I am grade 8 AMEB in violin) full symphony orchestras (as a violinist, pianist and percussionist) to brass and jazz bands (as a pianist and drummer). I was also in the winning school jazz band in 1995 for the Generations in Jazz and was selected as the drummer for the Superband.
I have over 20 years of private teaching experience and have taught at various primary and high schools both in Adelaide and Darwin, and Nazareth Community College.
I believe that my passion and extensive musical background well equips me to teach children of all ages and abilities. I have DCSI clearance as well as a Catholic Schools Police Check card.
