Nava is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, music arranger and ex-radio announcer, who is also a passionate teacher. He is a current PhD candidate and sessional tutor at Griffith University. In 2022, Nava was awarded the Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship.
Making appearances at the annual Yamaha Keyboard Festival from 2012 - 2014, Nava also appeared as featured musician at the statewide event, Creative Generation 2017.
In 2017, Nava won the international remix competition hosted by electronic music icon Moby, for his song ‘Are You Lost In The World Like Me?’. The remix was released on 12” vinyl via New-York-based label Little Idiot, alongside remixes by Blanck Mass and Moby himself.
Nava won the Emerging Composer / U25 Award in the Matt Withers 2018 Australian Music Composition Competition with his work Solitude, which has since been toured around Australia and released on ABC Classics. He has also composed music for a large array of media, including '8-Bit Domination', an Australian documentary on the chiptune music scene, as well as for 'Forever Gentleman', a historical novel by American Author, Roland Colton.
Nava has spent four years studying piano under the tutelage of Mr Oleg Stepanov, head of keyboard studies at the Queensland Conservatorium.
