Hi. I’m Nicholas, and I have been performing and teaching saxophone for 15 years.
I completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz performance with a specialist pass in composition at the Australia National University in 2008 and I am currently studying a masters of secondary teaching at University of Canberra. I play, and teach alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, as well as clarinet. I also have a passion for playing musical instruments from Indonesia.
I have performed all over Australia and also toured and performed in Indonesia. I played in a wide variety of styles including jazz, rock, classical, reggae, ska, afrobeat, Indonesian gamelan and experimental improvisation. I have recorded for many different projects, as well as producing, composing and recording my own projects. You can find more information about my projects at

As I teacher, I have taught group classes, individual lessons, and improvisation masterclasses, occasionally in Indonesian language. My teaching experience also includes teaching English as a second language to kids and adults of varying language levels in Indonesia and Argentina and teaching skill development to people with a disability in Australia.
I love teaching saxophone, as it helps me to reinforce my own learning while imparting musical knowledge on to my students. I really try to make my lessons fun and enjoyable and design each session according to the goals and level of the students. I incorporate technical fundamentals into every lesson, while also understanding that the goals of each student may be widely different.
Give me a call or send me an email to find out more.
