Nir Tsfaty

I'm a music teacher, composer, songwriter and record producer.

As a singer-songwriter, I have worked with top producers and have led two alternative rock/pop bands. I have recorded four studio albums and played hundreds of shows, including music festivals, national TV and radio. My current solo project debuted at Melbourne Recital Centre in 2021. I have recently premiered a new piece for string quartet at the National Gallery of Victoria.

My screen composer portfolio includes a nomination in the Best Music for Short Film category for Scorpion Ascent at the 2023 APRA Screen Music Awards, along with projects for ABC, Isuzu, Respect Victoria, Jalna, iSelect, Hapoel Jerusalem B.C, Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva Orchestra and more, while collaborating closely with Production Alley Studios as Music Director and Resident Composer.

I have been teaching music for 15 years, leading a private studio in St Kilda East, where I teach the guitar, songwriting, music production, mixing and composition.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Composition from The Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance, and a current Working With Children Check.
