I’m a tertiary qualified professional musician and educator living in the Brunswick/Coburg area. My main instruments are Bass guitar and Guitar and my second instruments are Drums and Piano.
I teach from my own well-equipped home studio with a variety of resources to use during lessons (also it’s a 5-minute walk from Moreland Station), but am happy to travel to you if necessary. The studio includes guitars for you to learn on during lessons, if you don’t have one, a piano and drum kit.
Really happy to take on any skill level, including complete beginners, as I’m just keen to teach people and talk about music. The most important thing for me is that my students enjoy themselves and are happy with the music they are making.
Some things that can be covered in lessons:
- composition / songwriting lessons
- music theory / aural training
- audition and entrance exam preparation (eg Monash University, Victorian College of the Arts, NMIT, Box Hill Institute, AIM, JMC Academy)
- jazz improvisation and advanced harmonic concepts
I have heaps of experience playing gigs, recording and composing across many genres, including: Hip-hop, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Funk, Soul, Rock and Pop. I currently gig around in many groups in Melbourne and nationally. I am able to tutor you in the specifics of any genre or look at enhancing your performance skills and get you ready to start performing.
I’m able to teach high-level theory (including AMEB) with an emphasis on jazz theory and analysis as well as high-level improvisation training. Additionally, I can teach ear training/musicianship skills to a high level. From the basics to the advanced, convoluted stuff.
I can teach introductory lessons for Ableton Live music production software to get you started creating your own music. Also, I can take you through the compositional basics which are essential to new producers.
I can perform services/setups for Basses and Guitars and minor repairs at $35 per instrument.
Lessons begin at $30 per half hour or $50 for a whole hour
hope to hear from you!
