Sight-Singing & Music Theory Lessons for Choristers

Do you love singing in a choir but still struggle with things like:
• Keeping your part steady in SATB texture?
• Finding and staying on pitch without relying on others?
• Making clean jumps in the melody without guessing?
• Focusing on your conductor instead of getting lost in the score?

If yes — you’re not alone, and I can help.

I’m Olga — a chorister and ear training coach with over 20 years of experience. I teach using the Russian solfeggio approach: clear, musical, practical training that develops strong inner hearing and musical awareness.

What I don’t teach:

Breathing, vocal placement, pronunciation — these belong to vocal technique and stay with your voice teacher.

What I do teach:
• Sight-singing with a tonal approach — hearing how each note functions inside the key, recognising patterns, and singing confidently (even tricky intervals!)
• Ear training for choristers — identifying intervals and chords by ear, understanding what’s happening in the harmony instead of guessing
• Rhythm clarity — reading and feeling rhythm precisely, staying together with your section and conductor
• Reading the score with understanding — connecting notation, ear, and voice so the music on the page truly makes sense
• Audition prep — I can help you feel confident and ready for choir auditions
• Save time on the notes — you won’t need to spend hours bashing through the score; once you understand the logic of the musical language, it clicks much faster

My goal is to help you connect eyes → ears → voice. When this connection clicks, singing in choir becomes lighter, more musical, and so much more enjoyable.

We’ll work on real choral music, including the pieces you’re rehearsing right now, so you feel the progress directly in your next rehearsal.
